Adult Therapy & Counseling · Seattle · Statewide WA Telehealth

A therapist who has an opening this week, takes your insurance, and fits.

Most Seattle practices book weeks out. Talk to someone the same week, matched to a therapist who fits, in person or by secure video. We accept most major insurance plans.

In short

Adult therapy and counseling at Counseling Services for Wellbeing helps Seattle-area adults work through anxiety, low mood, stress, burnout, grief and life transitions, with a therapist matched to fit. We accept most major insurance plans, book first appointments the same week and see clients at our three offices or by secure video statewide.

Does this sound familiar?

Most people do not arrive at therapy in a crisis. They arrive worn down.

It might be the stress that does not let up, the kind you have learned to live around. It might be a relationship that keeps catching on the same snag, the same argument in a new outfit. It might be a low patch that was supposed to lift on its own and has gone on too long, or the quiet sense of running on empty even when nothing is obviously wrong.

And underneath a lot of it, there is the belief that you should be able to handle this yourself, and the uncomfortable realization that you have run out of road. You do not need a diagnosis to deserve support, and you do not need to have it all figured out before you reach out. Plenty of people start therapy knowing exactly what is wrong, and plenty start knowing only that something is.

The hard part is usually finding the right someone, soon, without a six-week wait and a surprise bill. You have carried it alone for long enough. The next step is being matched with a therapist who fits, this week, who takes your insurance.

What we offer

Therapy for adults across the range of reasons people reach out.

Anxiety and stress that will not let up

Wired and scattered, the brain on at 3am, the worry that follows you into rooms it does not belong in.

A low patch that has lasted too long

Flat more than sad, going through the motions, a heaviness that was supposed to lift on its own and has not.

Burnout and running on empty

The fuel gauge sits on empty even when nothing is obviously wrong. You have been pushing through. That is the problem.

Relationships snagging on the same thing

The same fight in a new outfit, distance where there used to be ease, a pattern that keeps catching.

Grief, loss and life transitions

A change that knocked you off balance, a loss of footing, a season that asks more of you than you expected.

First time, and not sure where to start

You do not have to know how to name what you are carrying. First-time-therapy adults are very welcome here.

You do not need a diagnosis or a crisis to deserve support. If you are ready to talk to someone, that is reason enough.

Our approach

How therapy works here.

We do not hand you the next open slot. We match you with a therapist who fits what you are working on, then look at the whole person rather than the presenting problem alone.

1

Reach out

A short form or a call. We hear what brought you in and what you are working on, whether that is clear or hard to name yet. No assessment battery to clear before we talk.

2

Get matched

At intake a real person learns what you are working on and pairs you with a therapist who fits it. Fit is the single biggest factor in whether therapy works, so we take the match seriously rather than handing you whoever is open.

3

Start this week

First appointment in person at one of three Seattle-area offices or by secure video anywhere in Washington. Same therapist each session. The early sessions are about understanding what brought you in and where you want to go, at a pace that fits you.

The method

We look at the whole person, not just the presenting problem.

Counseling Services for Wellbeing was built on the idea that mental health care should account for the whole person, so we pay attention to sleep, energy, the body and the patterns around you, not only the thoughts in your head. Cognitive behavioral therapy is broadly available across our team, and is one of the science-backed psychotherapies the American Psychological Association describes as an effective way to address common concerns.

When what you are working on calls for it, we have therapists who work with EMDR for experiences that still live in the body and DBT for the days the feelings run hot. If medication ever becomes part of the picture, our therapy team and our psychiatric team are in the same practice and coordinate when that fits, so you are not left stitching your own care together across two places.

We are not the cheapest cash-pay practice in the city and we are not trying to be. We are the option that takes your insurance, gets you in this week, matches you with a therapist who fits, and can coordinate therapy with medication inside one practice.

Frequently asked questions

What adults ask before starting therapy.

Do you take my insurance for therapy?

We accept Kaiser, Premera, Regence, Aetna, UnitedHealthcare and Cigna for adult therapy and counseling. We will confirm your specific coverage before your first appointment, so you know exactly what to expect rather than guessing and there are no surprise bills after the first visit.

How soon can I be seen?

First appointments are available the same week, not weeks out. Much of the Seattle market books four to six weeks ahead or is cash-pay only, so you do not have to white-knuckle a long wait to start. We are accepting new clients now, in person or by secure video, and we will find the first opening that fits your schedule.

Do you offer therapy online or only in person?

Both. You can meet in person at our Green Lake, Burien or Smokey Point offices, or by secure video anywhere in Washington with online therapy in Washington, with the same therapist either way. You can also switch between in person and video as your life changes, without starting over with someone new.

How do you match me with a therapist?

At intake we learn what you are working on and pair you with a therapist who fits it, rather than handing you the next open slot. Fit is the single biggest factor in whether therapy works, so we take the match seriously. You see the same therapist each session, which is what lets real progress build over time.

What do you treat?

Adults come to us for anxiety, depression, trauma, relationships, grief, stress, burnout and life transitions, among other reasons. We have dedicated pages for several of these and will help route you to the right starting place. If you are not sure how to name what you are carrying, that is fine, and you do not need a diagnosis to begin.

What is the difference between therapy and counseling?

For most people they describe the same care. Counselors and therapists at our practice do the same work of helping you understand what is going on and move forward, so do not get hung up on the word. Whichever term your plan or your search used, you will land with a licensed clinician matched to what you are working on.

Can therapy and medication work together?

Yes. Our therapy team and our psychiatric team are in the same practice and coordinate when that fits your care, so you do not have to manage two separate offices or stitch your own treatment together. Medication is never assumed or pushed. Any step like that is a decision you make together with the team.

Take the next step

You have carried it alone for long enough.

Request an appointment today and we will match you with a therapist who fits what you are working on, often within the same week. Counseling Services for Wellbeing accepts most major insurance plans, books first appointments the same week, and sees adults in person at our Green Lake, Burien and Smokey Point offices or by secure video across Washington.
