Reaching out for therapy can feel vulnerable. Maybe you're feeling overwhelmed, anxious, stuck, disconnected from yourself or simply unsure of what comes next. I want therapy to feel like a warm and welcoming space where you can slow down, feel heard and explore what you need without judgment.
Hi, I'm Anu. I'm a Licensed Mental Health Counselor Associate in Washington State and a recent graduate of Seattle University, where I earned my master's degree in counseling. Much of my professional background has been with youth in K-12 settings, especially adolescents and high school students. I've supported young people through academic and social pressures, relationships, identity, self-esteem, anxiety and the many changes that come with growing into who they are.
While I have a particular passion for working with adolescents and young adults, I welcome clients from different stages and walks of life. I'm especially interested in supporting people experiencing anxiety, self-esteem challenges, life transitions, relationship concerns and a sense of disconnection from themselves or their direction.
My approach is holistic and integrative. I draw from Solution-Focused Therapy, Person-Centered Therapy and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), with an emphasis on strengths-based, collaborative and motivational work. I may also bring in mindfulness, body awareness and creative or expressive practices when they feel supportive and right for you. At the heart of it is our relationship, and I try to bring warmth, patience, curiosity and authenticity into our work together. You're the expert on your own life. I'm here to help you understand yourself better, identify what matters to you, explore your options and feel confident making choices that align with your own values and goals.
Outside of counseling, I'm an animal lover and proud dog mom to my chiweenie, Chocolate. I also help manage a family restaurant with my parents, which has given me a deep appreciation for community and connection. When I'm not working, you can usually find me roller skating, traveling or trying new food.
You don't have to have everything figured out before starting therapy. Sometimes the first step is simply having a space where you can say, “I'm struggling,” and know that someone is willing to listen.
